It’s interesting to me how God plants seeds. I don’t know what they mean at first and then as time goes on, they began to reveal their meaning. Some years back I began to listen to different people share on Sonship and what it means to walk as a fully manifested Son of God on earth. These words they shared hit me hard! I wanted to hear and know more about this. I mean, if we believe in Jesus aren’t we Sons of God?
There is a shift happening today. It’s a shift of seasons. Of old wine into new wine. A transition of what we knew into something new. This requires a close relationship and a one on one relationship with Jesus to step into. It is a brave and bold step to go into this new day, this new wine. Oftentimes, the step in comes with a cost (though I have questions if it will always be that way or if that’s just for forerunners?)…it may come with a cost that looks wrong to the world that looks on but totally on and right to those that follow, I mean really follow Jesus.
Jesus led an unpopular life. Yes, He had crowds that followed Him but when He started to discuss the deeper things, the crowds dispersed. They were there for the miracles and healing and signs and wonders but when it came to eating His flesh and drinking His blood, they were out. He went too far. He went from a hero to a freak in a couple seconds. The road to following Him often looks unpopular. The choice to do so is what I refer to as the Shulamite moment. In Song of Songs, the Shulamite is looking for her beloved and cannot find Him and when she goes past the overseers (the religious, the religious elect) she finds Him (Song of Songs 3: 1-4):
Night after night I’m tossing and turning on my bed of travail. Why did I let him go from
Me? How my heart now aches for him, but he is nowhere to be found! So I must rise in
Search of him, looking throughout the city, seeking until I find him. Even if I have to roam
Through every street, nothing will keep me from my search. Where is he-my soul’s true
Love? He is nowhere to be found. Then I encountered the overseers as they encircled
The city. So I asked them, Have you found him-my heart’s true love?” Just as I moved
Past them, I encountered him. I found the one I adore!
Often to follow where we are led into the journey to become a Son of God we must make a difficult choice to follow. Unfortunately, the veil of religion silences the voice of God for a lot of people. The shift that is happening requires us to listen to Holy Spirit and guidance of where to go and what to do. It’s a walk of total reliant trust on Him. And every person’s journey to walk this road looks totally different. But a common thread is the theme of trusting Him and His word to that person. And I’ve found a few that have had to do what the world or religion would say is bad in order to follow. But the steps to follow Him are the road to who He created that one to be.
Religion is insidious and sneaky. It finds cracks and crevices and pushes in even if we pushed it out once already! I found that happened with myself. Read Paul’s letter to the Galatians on this. The way we did church/Christianity before can’t be the way we go forward now. Before it was blindly following the leader who hopefully taught the Word and had some revelation to pass on. I do think that was for a time and laid foundation for us. But to move forward into the new there is a shift that takes place, our roles as priests ourselves instead of having someone do it for us! Get alone with the Lord and ask Him what He is saying to you, what He wants you to do. The shackles of religion will fall off and you may feel wobbly but that’s okay! Gone is the day of begin childish in the kingdom! Though we are to be childlike. Listening to Him requires a childlike approach…getting quiet, letting go of what you think you know, and letting Him speak.
I’m not diminishing church, in fact I’m empowering church! I think church as we know it will shift and change. I believe it will look more like a loving family. One that isn’t divided anymore, though we may have our differences, we would rather adopt and live the verse that states that love covers a multitude of sins verses, a worldly thought of I’m right and you’re wrong. A family loves even if they wildly disagree about many things. Those beliefs don’t malign love. Love is above varying beliefs. Imagine a family of people who all believe and FOLLOW Jesus and what Holy Spirit instructs them to do! Church looks like different ones then sharing their revelations from Father and all of us spurring each other on.
This new day of walking as Sons in family united in Christ will herald in the church taking her authority in the world. It will bring forth kings and priests who will reshape society. They will bring forth from heaven into earth what this earth was meant to be like. It will be a walk back toward before the fall of Eden. After all, Jesus died undoing the fall and we have His resurrection power living in us so there are things out of line, many things. The world does look dark in many ways but if even just a few began to believe and follow Him and take the journey into Sonship and walk in love and create family where they are the dark will be pushed out of the way quickly. Dark can’t exist where there is light and there is no darkness in love. This is already happening! This day is here!
